Asbestos Awareness

Protecting oneself and others requires workers and supervisors to be aware of the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and know what to do if they encounter any. Asbestos awareness information, instruction, and training are meant to equip workers and supervisors with the knowledge they need to avoid disturbing asbestos during routine work that may disturb the building's fabric or other items that might contain asbestos. Workers and independent contractors will not be adequately trained for tasks involving asbestos. It is important for workers to learn more before they disturb ACMs at their workplace.
